I am 60 days out to the end of the lease on my 08 M5. The dealer assures me that he can get me into a 2010 M5 for my current lease payments, except instead of the current 24 month lease it will have to be a 36 month lease.
My choices are the following
2010 M5 Custom ordered takes about 8 week so should be ready when its time to end my lease
2010 Nissan GTR
2010 Toyota Prius
What kind of deals are you guys seeing on the 2010 M5s? I know they are giving 2009 M5s away but I don't want an 09. Comments welcome.
Without knowing what your "current" payment is, it is impossible to give any feedback. I would think you would be able to get a more significant discount these days compared to your last purchase and the sticker price has not gone up. Add financing incentives and I would be looking for a lower rate - particularly with the extension to 36 months.

Where does the Prius fit in? Obviously 3 very different cars -- with the Prius being very, very different.

Current payments are $1570, from the understanding lease deals are not as sweet as they used to be back in 08 because BMW and many other makers have slashed residual values on their cars thus making them more expensive to lease. I believe they are trying to get more people to buy cars instead of leasing.
The Prius is the wildcard, something of an FU i dont care anymore kind of car, if I felt that way.
If you want another M5, just get a used one (AND a prius if you really feel the need to own one lol). If you are comfortable spending the money on a new M5, I would take that cash and maybe try a used low miles 997 turbo.
buy a used m5 for 1/2 the price and keep some change!

Hey, I see the advantages of the Prius: you could buy 3 Priuses for the price of one M5, hire two drivers to follow you around in the other two Priuses and still use less gas than the one M5. Really.
Seriously, though, the 2010 may worth it just for the improved iDrive.
I have an 08 e60 M5 and a 09 prius. My two cars average 25mpg. LOL.
The prius is a great form of transportation but as a car, it sucks. You will be so unhappy giving up what comes in the M5 for a prius. It is so uncomfortable to drive. I can live with it for trips that are 10 miles round trip.
