Europe trip in July...

So in July a buddy and I are back packing around Europe. Yes sir, just like on the movies. We're landing in Zurich because he has some family there then on to Munich, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Berlin, Amsterdam, Monaco, Madrid, Barcelona...and probably a few more cities we haven't considered. My question here is, since we'll be going to the ring, what are the chances we find someone who is doing the ring taxi who has 2 spot available? We just decided on this trip 2 weeks ago and there's no way we can reserve our own car around the ring.

I think you must book in advance, especially in the summer.

I would say it's not that easy, as normally you try to book it in advance - so exhaust that option first. Then when you are going to the 'ring, select a day when the ringtaxi is running - stop by that day when it opens at their office kiosk, and try to add your name in standby - in case someone cancels/no show. Now this does happen occasionally. However if they get behind schedule - due to accidents etc, well, then you're screwed again...

There are also cars you can rent, several companies doing that...

Rent Racecar Nurburgring Nordschleife Rental Car Selfdrive

rent nurburgring race car - Google Search

and last but not least they have an Aston Martin there that you can also ride in, didn't have time to find the link for that...

Just be sure not to take the train to Nuremberg.... aim fur Nurburg

Also, you can have free paxlaps in many cars - just ask around in
the carpark.
