As you would expect, the 430 would pull in the beginning, and then the M5 starts to reel him in as speeds increase. Once that occurs, the 430 driver gets out of the throttle. Whether that's accident or design, I couldn't say.

Regardless, neat video of two very special cars going for it.
Totally agree with your accessment of the video.

the cost to maintain a ferarri is insane! Well prob not as bad as the 355's ans you have to drop the whole engine just to do an oil change! But with the f430 you have to change the clutch out pretty often...

I hope the next generation M5/M6 kills the Ferrari Fiorano.

+1. With roll after roll after roll, pardon the pun but you can't say they didn't "exhaust" the outcome of the two cars clashing.

Eww that was a stinker.

No offense guys, but I own and love both cars (M6), but there is no comparison in the driving experience. NONE!!! They are totally different animals and the F430 walks away from the M6 at any speed I've tried.

Honestly, it's not even close for the 430 all the way.

As a side note, my M6 also walks away from my buddies stock M5. 3 car lengths to 100mph.

So, I watched the video, and something must be broke.

You have an M6 Vert, it weighs nearly 500lbs more then the coupe and 300ish more then an M5...

Sorry don't mean any offence but you say you've got both cars, but i guess would be difficult to drive them at exactly the same time in other to conclude which is faster or unless you've got a timing gear to measure both reaction times of both cars or your mate drives one and you drive the other, but even then a mate would have to have been driving you car to have enough confidence to hammer a car he did not pay for should in case he broke it which i don't think you will allow considering the cost of both cars. Like i said no offence meant but would not like my e30 m3 or e34 m5 driven like that by anybody other than for their well being or Tests even though they are older models and cost a hell of a lot less than yours, just my observation.
