2010 e63 amg !! Just 525hp!!

AMG is still bidding on its 6.3 N/A engine.
BMW M division need to build 600+ HP engine for the next M5 to kill the market.

I am confident that the M will have more horsepower. However, I'm sure that the e63 will have ridiculous torque. Still, I think the M5 will easily win all around

Also, I think the new e63, judging by that pic, looks really good

Wirelessly posted (Treo: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

I wonder if it is going to use the dual clutch gearbox from the SL63

I have heard that Audi, Merc, and BMW, have all agreed to control hp, for the sake of the environment.
They will stop the power crazy war, and keep cars within the 550bhp range.
They will concentrate on reducing weight and minimazing transmition losses.
Either way, all newer versions should be quicker!

So MB retains the N/A engine and BMW goes TT. Anyone else think this is backwards?

The car looks great from that shot. I can't wait to see what it looks like fully.

I don't believe the article. It can't be only 525hp. If that's the case, everyone will be buying a damn C63.

OR, they'll do what they did with the w220 S55 (they had the S55 for 1 or 2 years with just the n/a 5.5L v8, then they put in the s/c). I think that they may keep it n/a for 2 production years and then drop in turbos (as AMG's chief has already ruled out s/c's b/c of CAFE regulations).

Who knows, the new M5 definitely needs to be a beast.
