Look at the bottom contour of the rear bumper.

You have to look real hard.

And it doesn't help the exhaust tips are black.

Posted Nurburgring times for a e60M5 was 8 minutes 13 seconds and for a e63M6 it was 8 minutes 9 seconds.

And don't forget all the talk at Cadillac, a 2009 CTS-V did 7 minutes 59 seconds.

But I heard Sabine is more than happy to try to best those times in a e60M5.

Here's the Queen at work:

Ok maybe I got it backwards, but everyone doesn't think the GT3 will beat a M6 from a roll, though driver ability makes a huge deal in a GT3. Keeping that bad boy in the power band is no small feat. Granny shifting won't get it done.

Okay I guess I have to say something .

First of all I must say to Murtaza, great job!!! You took care of business. You represented the M5/M6 brand proudly.

Now to the next point. After being inferred that I'm an idiot by member bluestreak, I have a little input.
I own these cars. I have the M5, 997GT3 and 997GT3RS so I personally know them well.
There was a thread on 6speed showing a video where an orange 997GT3RS on a rolling start out pulls an M6. This became a lengthy thread with much contention and anger about the results.
I fought hard stating that, NO WAY IN HELL that was truly possible.
I got jumped on and eviscerated. Nobody would accept my position. They would not accept any videos I submitted.
They would not accept my position nor I theirs.

I had planned a run between my GT3 and my M5. Abid and I were going to do it when all the M5 TT built motor came up.

I will say that this topic using my GT3 is a very different matter. Considering the mods, my GT3 dyno'ed 392 rwhp which translates to 460 bhp. The car weighs a tick below 3000 lbs. Those numbers would appear to possibly favor the GT3.

I still believe I should plan a run with another local M5/M6 against my GT3. I should clarify that the intended run was to be my M5 on motor. Nitrous would be unfair.

Currently trying to sell the serial killer GT3 so we'll see what happens.

Conclusion: Stock for stock the M5/M6 will beat the 997GT3 or 997GT3RS. Though my GT3 is the exception .

Cheers
Ranger

Another point comes to mind.
The GT3/RS is a 3.6L little six banger and naturally aspirated.
The turbo'ed versions of this basic motor do make serous power.

As a naturally aspirated product this motor is highly tweeked and high strung. This makes it a fun motor to drive. At redline the characterictics of this motor are so intoxicating.

So lets compare a 5.0L V10 vs. a 3.6L flat six. Is this fair?
No matter it is good competition.
My GT3 makes 128 hp/L. Not bad for a naturally aspirated engine.
Just as incidental info the Dinan stroker is approx. 110 hp/L.

What would happen ? It is a fun thought . Please do not mention the video game.
Thank you

Ranger

Hell yes stickers help! Widely known fact that a few properly sized and placed "GReddy" stickers will knock an otherwise stock Civic into the mid-11's.

I can only imagine the performance that would be unleashed if you were to add them to a Porsche

The S85 is naturally aspirated as well so I'm not sure what your point is? The GT3 RS is also a lot lighter. The P-car took off on the M6 as the op stated. I guess the decision was made by the driver of the Porsche that he thought he could win!

Oh ok now I remember what it was, Ranger was saying the M5 would destroy the GT3 etc. etc. I do beleive with equal drivers that the M5 is faster but I've run head to head with a modded M6 in a stock GT3 and the M6 didn't pull more than a door. The M6 had a passenger which basically negated the mod advantage. I'll see if I can dig them up but with a good driver a stock M5 is not easily faster than a GT3 with some extra fast (but not power shifting) shifting, that I can promise you.

I honestly think the GT3 is between the M5 and M6 at least up to about 140-150 mph.
