How badly has your business suffered in this economy?

Just wondering what field of work some of you are in, and if it's been as tough for you as it has for me. I'm in Intermodal Logistics, therefore about 90% of all my work comes in or out of China. The Chinese New Years just finished this past week, and even before that my gross income has decreased by about 60%. Now when diesel prices are considerably lower it would be great for me to get on my feet, however, there's no work. It's really sad to see where the business was years ago and where it is now.

Not a easy time for most businesses, but I try to stay as optimistic as possible.

I would love to have this discussion especially with the upcoming DISASTER but ...

I believe Gustav discourages these topics.

THE END IS NEAR!!! I am expecting the worst parts of the Bible to come true....sans frogs and stuff, but ya get the idea. Seriously, I am expecting rioting, looting, fires, floods and a basic breakdown of the world. Obama may very well be the last U.S. President.

I for one would invest in guns, water and canned goods.

My client list is growing...but my actual collections are probably down 40-50% of last year...possibly more. I own a collection agency...I am dying...worst stretch I have had in quite some time. But I am hanging in there. I had a good run prior to this and managed to sock some money away...

I have been so severely affected by it that I am counting down the days till the end of my lease which is 5 months out. I am in love with this car and I cannot see my life without it but it has to go. My income is down roughly 70%.

This Sucks!

I expected this from a 17 year old kid who still lives at home and has his parents pay for it all.

Lets get real kid, cause that is what you are a kid. All the praying and keeping a positive attitude does not help in the real world. Banks are frozen, companies are laying off and the world is in serious economic peril. "Keeping a positive mind", does not put food on the table, pay the mortgage, phone, cable, insurance, taxes, cars and registration bills. Let me tell you, there is nothing like trying to sleep and being kept up at night with thoughts of eviction and knowing that your friends and family are suffering and wives are crying and husbands are looking for work while kids become emotionally effected because Mommy and Daddy are fighting all the time.

You have some nerve to come on here and even offer an opinion.

And before you post, I do not have an pent up anger toward you and no homosexual issues like you have reference to in the past. Do not think I am out to get you so get off your self obsessed disillusion paranoid fix.

I just think you should not comment on something you have Zero experience with.
