Posting to this board - are we losers...?

Was reading the thread about MODIFYING THE M5, and about ten posts in, the subject of why people seem to rabid about this board in particular was mentioned. I am new to here, already an addict. I've been catching up through the archives on Dinan Stage III, shortshifters...etc. And so I got to thinking - am I a loser?

Well, yes, probably, but look at it this way. M5 owners have the best message board in the world... why? Because we share the personality of the car we've choosen to love.

Consider -- that just like the car it speaks of: this "board" looks like a lot of other "boards" but actually is incredibly well-thought out, informative, versatile, unforgiving at times. To a passing observer it's just another "board" - but we who have experienced it know better.

The "board" has been packaged to be user-friendly to the novice, but has enough substance for even the hard-core freak. The "board" takes up far too much of its participants time. It allows for personalization in lots of little ways.

Users of the "board" enjoy the anonymity of being a name in a board, but are ready at the drop of the hat to throw down at any "M5killa" - we know we may look like any other "board" but we love that you think that, and that we know better.

FINALLY CONSIDER THE OTHER "BOARDS"

Bently, Rolls boards - owners let someone else do their posting, and it's by mail.

Lexus boards - uh, what's a board? What's the internet? Can you make my keyboard feel softer.

Mercedes boards - Please, it's a mercedes, it's perfect , my dealer said so. In fact, my dealer sets up the board and posts for me.

Jaguar board - sever down

SO I SAY - YES I AM A LOSER! I THINK ABOUT MY CAR AND THIS BOARD. AND I AM PROUD

Good post, Deanger,

Guess I'm a loser, too.

As I look at the Z8 sitting in the garage in the depth of a New England winter, this board helps me get through until Spring.

You're fortunate to be living in sunny So. CA.

I don't own an M5. Would it make me even more of a loser to think about YOUR CARS and this board?? And if thinking about cars and this board makes a person a loser, then you're in good company my friend (at least you are with me).

Guys:

Put my name on the list also. Like some of the others I do not own an M5 either and yet I am addicted to this board. In a matter of four months I have spoken with many different people who I would probably never even notice unless I saw them driving their M5 and I have also met most of the Boston contingent(sp). I must say that this board is better then any other I have seen as it is not filled with immature posts, spam, and bmw bashers. Instead you are greated by generous, nice, people who care about their automobile in ways 95% of the population will never experience. So yes, I am a loser, but I do not mind being one if it means that I meet a bunch of interesting people who share my love for automobiles and the M5 in particular.
