I'm surprised that nobody has commercialized electric assist peformance add-ons yet. You know...in similar fashion to add-on superchargers & turbo chargers.

(I'll miss the sweet sound of a combustion engine)
I was thinking of some sort of add on that would only work for 5 seconds or so to get the car launched off the line. You wouldn't need as many batteries as the Nissan. Not sure where it would attach. A complicated and expensive solution would be to provide the assistance thru the front wheels somehow. Not easy on a car without 4wd.

Regardless, someone will do it.

don't worry, I got walked by and eclipse GST on the highway the other night. Let off at about 4 cars. He supposedly has around 375+ whp. I guess I shoulda started in 3rd gear rather than 4th at 75 mph. That's what I get for not taking him as seriously as I should have haha.

Snow Tires -- What are those?

THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT ON ANY CAR -- aside from the driver, as smart or as dimwitted as he/she may be -- IS THE TIRES.

It's not just the tread, it's the tire compound.

For many, it might help to write the above on a post-it note, attach it to a bit, and drill it into one's head. Can't hurt, right?

I make sure the clutch is completely out before rolling onto the throttle. No abuse to the car, keeps me stealth, and is probably faster than goosing it early and getting wheelspin anyway. Smoky lauches at traffic lights is what E55's were made for...

I still can't get over it though... a Pontiac Grand Prix!

I decided to go dsc off and then engaged s6...on one run i literally thought i left my tranny and rear end in the street from rolling start 1st to second...s6 is really unbelievable...I rolled up to a stoplight and there it was--a new pontiac grand prix with what appeared to be rodney dangerfield behind the wheel. I inched forward, he inched forward..s6 on, i was blipping the gas. I did not know if he wanted to go...the light turned and he took off---i nailed it but was a spinning fury--hit second but did little do help the rear end sliding---once i let off the gas he had beaten me to the second light---im sure i made his new year---sorry for letting the board down.

You lose on 2 fronts:

1 - You can't drive
2 - You were trying to street race

FAIL

I am contacting BMW and they are going to reduce your power to 300 hp until you learn how to drive and not make a fool of yourself.

What you should have done, was actually leave your traction control on... it would have limited you to S5... but the car would have smoked the Grand Prix... and it would have hooked... I've practiced in the rain... and from a Dead Stop you can punch it... w/ DSC on... and it will launch hard... and put as much power down as possible w/ out spinning.

Your mode of DSC Off... and S6... is for Warm Dry Conditions preferably.

If it helps you feel any better... I got to take it out on a poor SRT 8 Charger the other night... and I must have spanked him 4 or 5 times on the freeway...

Good Luck!
Dave
