An M5 to M5 waive... finally!

I was going off to a brunch this morning and had my folks in the car with me (easy on the speed). Coming south on the 427 and saw none other than an M5 coming up behind me. Black on black 08 and I flashed the yield blinkers for a second and moved aside. We dropped courtesy waives to one another. Nice to see that. I ride my VFR a lot in the summer days and I love the nice gestures of waives back and forth between riders.

Spot another M5/M6, try waiving to say hi. I do know it can be hard at times especially when inexperienced M5/M6 spotters are in the drivers seat .

I was in a parking lot saturday with my wife and saw a blue dinan badged e39 with the driver and his family getting in. I went "the long way" out so I could pull around...my wife was like what are you doing! The guy started walking towards me to say hello before I even had the window rolled down. Great moment...and my wife rolled her eyes so hard I think they made a sound, considering he left his family in the car to say hi...he probably got the same treatment .

I used to do this frequently back in the '80s, albeit with 911's, but it's nice to see that the gesture still holds true with our M's. A quck flash that says "hello" is always a good thing.

Just the other day I rolled the window down and exchanged some nicesties with a fellow M5'er at a red light. It's always cool to get the nod from a fellow enthusiast. It was even better when SHE planted her foot on the gas when the light turned green!
