Like I mentioned before. Do a proper compairison with Avant vs Touring, Stock vs Stock. If you bring tuned into it then that RS6 will not been seen for dead if the numbers by autobild are correct.
true the rs6 is very fast but I think this test is just a bit off.
Why: your fighting the rs6 at his best level. from the low revs the rs6 had more torque. also if you would do it from a standing start it would be harder for the rs6. due to his quattro system and weight it would have a much harder time to beat the M5.
But i will admit its a very fast car
Very true, the RS6 is poor off the line. There is a video on Drivers Republic where they line up against a C63-the C63 destroyed it to the 1/4!
Gumballnut, we raced two M5s one of a chipped and Dinan exhaust sedan otherwise stock was beaten by the RS6 so naturally a stock M5 Touring would be beaten.
I personally beleive that the RS6 benefitted greatly of the cold air and cold weather that day.
Well as the turbo's do LOVE the cold weather that is not any doubt. But my little jibe was at T Bone where he's saying that the M5 being on 20"s hurt it that a stock wheel M5 should've run against it. I mearly suggested that if he wanted it to be fair then surely run the avant vs the touring?
Seriously...can an M ever just be the slower car???... I guess you have selective vision and missed the post debunking your factually impaired editorial...
Tom
Relax. It is clear the RS6 was faster, I just want to see the M5 run in stock form which means 19" wheels.
Having bigger wheels could have an impact on acceleration.
It is always easy to pick a winner after a race sport.

The Following User Says Thank You to T Bone For This Useful Post:
You seem to be the only one not understanding.
The RS6 is on 19" stock. 20" is an option.
The was also a run with the same RS6 (still on optional 20") vs. a BMW M5 with 19" (just like you asked for), plus it had Dinan exhaust + ECU.
Unfortunately, as you can see from other eye witnesses who wrote in this thread, that BMW M5 also lost. But you could always blame it on Dinan.
Note: Depending on market, either 19" or 20" is stock/option on the RS6.
In Germany, 19" is stock. In the UK/Sweden 20" is stock according to the Audi websites, just checked.
Thank you.
It is clear that Audi won, I hope they are proud that they beat a 4 year old car with 80 less horsepower. A great accomplishment.
No one is saying the RS6 didn't win, Cazorp and I want to see the RS6 vs. a stock M5.

Regardless, the RS6 benefitted from the cold air that day.
