I'm both happy AND sad. Sad because I'd consider owning this car. Happy because it's one less performance sedan to worry about.

Only thing I don't like about the car is it's looks.

Hi,

Sorry I missed the event yesterday - it looks like a great time as always.

A friend came by with a RS6 he borrowed from the dealer. A couple of observations when comparing to my M5 Touring (tuned by RPI and Supersprint):

- RS6 is unbeatable from standing start. It was raining today and it was totally impossible to have a chance against it.
- RS6 has increadible traction and it is very difficult to force any oversteer. M5 would not have a chance against it on a wet/snowy track.
- the rolling start were more equal. When I used S5 I was barely hanging on to him between 50/100-200 km/h. When I used S6 I was even up to 200 and then started to pull. Between 200 and 300 km/h, the Touring was faster.

The RS6 is:
- much quiter than standard M5 and dead silence compared to my Supersprint Touring
- feels more like a S6/S8 type of car.
- Steering is not as direct as in the M5
- Brakes a bit weaker than my standard discs with Pagids.
- gear paddles sits too low on the steering wheel forcing you too shift with your pinkies. It was very hard to manually change gears as the gearbox changed automatically as soon as you were in the readline area and the lack of engine noise made it hard to hear when it was time to shift.
- really missed HUD in the RS6. The speedometer sits to the right and at 200+ it is impossible to get an accurate reading as the meter hides behind the steering wheel/your hands.

Final verdict?
- RS6 in the fall, winter and on the ice
- M5 in the spring, summer and on the track

  • Gallardo LP560-4 is VERY fast, not your "going even with the BMW M5" Gallardo. Very fast and nice
  • Audi RS6 Avant: I was suprised, the Audi is just plain faster than the BMW M5 Sedan, however the BMW M5 gains a bit between 240 and 270 km/h but not enough to win over the Audi. So RS6 is a fast car, faster than I thought for sure. Impressive that 4WD and automatic can beat an M5 and a stock M5 Touring would not be able to beatr an RS6 Avant. I guess 580 HP is 580 HP
  • Gallardo SE is faster than Gallardo 500 HP E Gear, that is clear. But the LP560-4 is on another level.
  • 997 Turbo (manual) is getting walked quite easy by the LP560-4
All in all, a great day and the RS6 surprised and the 560-4 is not your Gallardo caferacer: it is fast

Stay tuned for videos

First movie out, BMW M5 E60 with aftermarket 20´BMW M6 style wheels vs Audi RS6 Avant stock 50-270 km/h

This was the 2nd BWM M5 we raced against the RS6 and also the 2nd race. In no race the M5 came out as a winner So this time the Audi really has 580 HP

Sounds like a usual Audi vs BMW verdict Thanks for the revew. Yup, I thought your Supersprint M5 would have a chance against the RS6 thanks to the added 40 HP.

What was the fuel consumption on the RS6?

Gustav do you think you could get an ABT 700hp RS6 for the next event you have there? According to the numbers in Autobild that thing can stick to an SLR like glue!
