Why compare any two vehicles? Why was racing ever thought of? What were people thinking?
I personally love seeing when people wonder what the heck just happened after crushing them when they thought there was no way they were going to lose.
True, any car can be made to go fast. But a naturally-aspirated BMW with a 4 yr 50K mile warranty that can challenge (and beat some) exotics, now that's something special IMO.

So, I buy a Honda Civic, juice it up to a million horsepower and then make an M5 look like a little kid's bike - who's laughing then? Guy in the M5, cause the other guy is still driving a ******* Civic (albeit miles ahead down the road by this point leaving the M5 in its dust). Or me in my Civic because you thought there was no chance you could lose in your overpriced BMW, bahahah.
The comparison should be made with cars meant to compete with one another - M5, E63/CLS63, RS6, etc. That's what they do in real racing, you don't see F1 cars in Nascar races - apparently not on message board racing though.
Comparing an M5 to a Ferrari or a Lambo or an SLR is just silly imo. Different cars for different purposes - speed is speed, but the overall experience is way different. I, for one, would never NOT buy a Ferrari because someone beat me in an M5 that was modded out.
(BTW - don't editorialize my quotes, thanks)
