'Sure wish AGA would organize a "run" with my car (or their S3) and the "stoker" M6 they finished for a customer about 2 months ago. AGA owner says M6 is "a traction challenged monster". M6 owner just recently ponied up for new HRE wheels and R-comp tires to help with traction. 'Haven't heard about results yet. 'Going to AGA this week, so 'will find out what latest word is.
My experience with E39 S3 #24 more or less parallels Dan's. I've logged 22k miles on my S/C'd S3 package in about 18 months time. Its had a few niggling problems which, for the most part, were quickly resolved by Motor Works West and Dinan. We've been to the drags several times now and while we've posted some decent times, there's still room for improvement. I believe 11.5 @125 mph is achievable. MWW, who built my S3 package in 03/2007, recently completed a stroker M6 convertible, which as I understand it, already had headers and some other performance goodies installed. I sure would like to try and organize a run against it with my S3. I'm sure it would be interesting.

I'd love to join such a run. Next month we're back to the track with new goodies and hoping for low 11's and 128 trap.

Good luck against the M6 stroker.

Thank you very much. Car leaves for Dinan on Saturday. Going to the dealer tomorrow morning for a final review of the basics to make sure nothing was missed by the installing dealer here in Dallas.

I think your set up should hit those goals. Sometimes I wish I kept my E39 and did the S/C S3....especially after seeing your videos.

Are you interested in coming down to our MIR track rental on 11/15? We have the whole 1/4 mile prepped with VHT...the weather should be -1200 to -2000ft DA and a bunch of European muscle looking to break some records. A bunch of guys are coming down from NY and around the country... let me know if you are interested (maybe the stroker M6 would be interested as well).

Hey Darren. Curious about how the stroker system work. Was it
a motor swap and the install is done at your dealership? Or was your
car shipped to Dinan originally for the install at their facility?

A motor swap. Dinan shipped a converted, crated motor to my dealer and they installed it per standard BMW engine swap instructions.

Hmmm, this gets you asking whether the original problem was from Dinan's Stroker engine or from your BMW dealer having missed out something when installing it? Time will tell, we have our fingers crossed for you, best of luck.
