I just heard about the trouble you guys are having with the 2 cars in Texas. I have a good friend in Atlanta who has had a Dinan stroker M6 with custom headers and exhaust for about 10 months and has had zero problems. I also know that there are 3 other Dinan strokers that were installed in M cars in Europe and have had no problems after several thousand miles of hard driving. I would think that the engines were installed incorrectly and I would be going back to my installer. It just seems weird that no one else has had any issues except you guys in Texas maybe you guys have gotten into some bad fuel or something.
Folks,
Please read my prior posts regarding the gas topic. It is NOT bad fuel. We have filled up at numerous gas stations between TX and AR plus used higher octane race fuel to ensure proper octane.

We'll have to see if these were installed in 2008 models

This might be stretching it... But have you tried to resent the adaptations on the car.
Disconnect the battery... tap the positive and negative together.. let them sit for 20-30 minutes.. then reconnect.
It doesnt seem like it will return 100 loss ponies.. but worth a try.
Good question and yes we had the adaptations totally reset/cleared last Thursday. I have the full print out of all the adaption values as well. Good idea though and we're all thinking along the same lines.
We just had our conference call with Steve Dinan and Classic BMW.
We agreed to send my car to them and Dinan will handle shipment of the vehicle for me.
Steve was adamant this is unique to our cars and gave us some good examples of how our cars should be performing. Steve gave us full confidence he will get to the root cause and have use back up and running with full power of the Dinan Stroker.
Before the call we spoke with the owner of the Dinan Stroker M6 reviewed by ML&E. The owner was very gracious to take our call and described how his car would break the tires loose at 75 mph when he goes WOT.
Steve was outwardly concerned about our cars and was very vocal that we should not be experiencing this level of performance. I was very impressed with his level of professionalism and true desire to fix the problem. Additionally, our dealer Classic BMW has pulled out the stops to ensure we're taken care of and continues to go above and beyond the call of duty.
Overall a very productive call and I really feel we have the right people supporting us in the process.
I do not want to drag out the speculation on the forum until we know more conclusively about the root cause and the resolution, therefore I'll hold off from posting anything further until we learn more from Dinan.
I appreciate everyone's willingness to offer ideas and support. This is the best ///M community on the planet.

Yes Steve said they would do the same for SBM6, although we all agreed in the end it would not make sense yet. Once we figure out my issue we'll be able to analyze SBM6's problem locally and see if his problem is identical. If it is then the appropriate parts can be shipped to fix it and if it's different the car can be shipped at that time. Dinan can only work on one car at time like this so it made more sense to hold off from shipping both.
