        High idle rpm?

My M5 idles in traffic at up to 900 rpm. Apparently the "official" reason for this is to keep the cats at optimal operating temp. Sounds weird to me..

Mine too. Rarely, like in 10% of the time, it sits lower at about 750. No idea

I have noticed this also, especially when you are behind another car. I just don't know why...

Running Air conditionning can elevate the idle RPM's.

mine too , I took to the dealer , ediots after 10 days of keeping the car there , they said I have to change the fuel pump and the fuel tank , I asked the reason why the fuel tank , the guy said that it might start leaking in the future ,, well , after long and long search , I've ordered a new fuel pump , replacing it was pain in the A** . and i found out that they wanted to replace the fuel tank is because if you order fuel tank , it will come with fuel pump installed inside it , they wanted me to pay almost 1500 $ just for the fuel tank .. and anyway my problem still there . most of the time it says at almost 900 .. very strange ... i have TIS software and I've done some search . they have similar cases and all are releated to the fuel pressure .. but at least while driving it doesn't loose HP's ...
