My first event in the beast!

Well after ownership of a year our BMW Brisbane club came up with a bitumen motorkhana last weekend.

"No drifting" was the rule of the day but heck if your sideways well one has to do what you have to do.

The area was a nice big bitumen area designed for the task. It was wet and being a former rally driver I took to the course as fast as I could.

My speed dinger is set to 130 KPH and it was going off in the figure 8 test.

i tried DSC on and off with varying results. At one stage I was second fastest to an 800HP M3. So my plan in the end was to use P500 and set the M button to disengage DSC and this seemed to work well. So coming up to a big slide I hit the M button, poweslid around the cones then hit it again and had traction between the cones!

Anyway we had a great day and my son ran his e46 330ci as well. We all had a great day and enjoyed our cars for what they are.

The kid in the supercharged M3 was bit faster. Ahh the youth of today! his tyres were shagged but mine are fine!

Oh the drifting!.... er sorry car reaction control adjustment....
