Picking up my M5 on Friday
Hi all, Dave here, newbie from Dublin Ireland...
Great site!
On Friday I am picking up my 05 Interlagos Blue M5, cant wait!! My previous BM's were a 00' ZM Coupe setup for Nordschleife, and an E90 320d M-Sport.. Also have a MK1 GT3 for track work(lives at the Ring'), so the M5 will be the daily driver and weekend sideways machine!! The car has 24k miles, fully black leather with leather dash, sunroof, alcantara headlining, bluetooth, sat-nav, rear blind, heated seats, adaptive seats and some other toys i cant think of!! Pretty well specc'd as Irish cars tend to have shag all extras!

Welcome Dave and Congrats on the beast! You're going to love it. Any future mods in mind? Please don't forget to post pictures once you receive it. The forthcoming couple of days will be a killer. I know how it feels to eagerly wait for the pick up. Trust me, it will be worth it.

+1. Enjoy her, but learn her well before you push her to the limits.

Yea Dave we seem to be, but hopefully this is the start of a trend.
Dont be so sure of the de-limit ive had my car for 6 months now and I honestly dont think we have any roads good enough to warrant a de-limit.
I was just thinking there if you are like I was when waiting for my car, man its pure torture but boy are you in for a good weekend
What about petrol Dave ? is there still only 95 oct sold in Dublin ?

Good stuff on the juice, I use that bio-ethnol stuff as well.
Ah man dont even go there the i-pod thing is the bane of my life at the minute, you can do a search but to cut it short,
you can buy something off the shelf from any audio maker,
get the lead from your dealer, although if your car is 05 it may not have the AUX port, but its crap it does not charge your i-pod and you almost crash every time you want to change tracks. This is what I have.
The best solution by a long way is to get the full BMW kit which is only a few hundred quid but the cars software needs to be reprogramed in order for it to work which costs another few hundred.
If you are getting your car from a BMW dealer you should try and wangle a deal for this before you collect.
