NOOB question here re: trunk cubby "space"
What is the cubby hole with hinged lid space in trunk for? The one on the left hand rear side as you are looking into trunk? Is it there for some specific reason or just small misc. storage? Oh yeah, being a NOOB sucks!

I don't think it is for anything. Just storage.
I put a small pair of needle-nose pliers and a plug kit in mine to compliment our $100 fix-a-flat "BMW Mobility System".

That's a good place for a concealed weapon.

I've got a DVD player in the hinged cubby space and a PS2 under the tray just above both linked to rear headrest screens
( Post about install here)

Its for holding bungie cords, which you will need to secure loose objects in your trunk during spirited driving

Darren, that's the first thing I thought, space for a concealed weapon. Must be a Jax thing! Scoops, that set up is great! I am an XBOX 360 guy though! Does that play through your satnav? I just stuffed a cleaning rag in there!

I leave a tire repair kit in mine -- tool, plugs and sealent. They are cheap and effective (at least for the short term) and do not cause the mess (inside and out) that you get using the BMW junk,

You just gave me an Idea to keep a tire repair kit in my M just in case I have a nail or slow leak in my tire. I hate all the fix-a-flat products. Dont they leave a mess or ruin the wheel?
