        I just watched a local shop dismantle my dash for a LI install. Wow - glad I paid them to do it. Most of the items pop off with a slim "puddy knife" or similar and pop back on just as easily.
        To remove the SMG lever section, he just pulled up on the SMG lever and the whole assembly came up.
        To remove the knob - lift it off as well.
        To remove the dash trim, use a puddy knife and work it off down its length.
        I don't remember the rest, but it's a start.
