Even if the CTS-V does win, they will have beaten a 3 year old design that will be out of production next year. not that great of an accomplishment if you ask me (if it beats the M5, that is).
I think it's pretty impressive performance wise and excellent value too. Not that I would chose that over M5/M6 but you have to give it what is due. I still believe the BMW will reign on top anyway!!

We should be prepared for some disappointment as the results will likely favor the CTS-V in most categories. From a dig, no doubt will the V be faster; it would be interesting to see a race from a roll, however. At least I like the looks of the M5 better, can't beat the V-10 sound, and I believe our delimited top speed will still be higher. Hats off to GM in producing a sedan that can compete performance-wise with the Germans. It would be interesting to see if there is a spike in performance mods to M5's in the months following the release of this article. Our sponsors should be poised for new orders and thank Road and Track.

my money is still on the M5...but if it loses it wont be by much...0-60 cts, 1/4 mile bmw, top speed bmw, braking bmw, slalom bmw...better lap time for bmw. But I could be wrong too!!

'""is there a winner, you'll have to check back on August 25th..."
I have the answer now, as a former Cadillac owner, from a family of former Caddilac owners since JFK was president, the Cadillac, any Caddilac, is a piece of sh$t - - just like a Chrysler...
- - I don't care if they put a jet engine into one, they way they are put together, the mentality is just plain ******ed, shortsighted, B.S. bling and not anywhere near the level of engineering/construction of a BMW. ...and it has nothing to do with me owning a BMW, I would have said the same thing years ago when I didn't own a beemer...
Dam!!! You really hate American cars huh? I think the M5 is the best 4 door sports sedan made as far as power and performance is concerned. As far as looks, its all on preference. I dont like the looks of the CTS-V, but the power cant be denied and i think it will win. 12 sec flat 1/4 mile times and that vette engine will pull hard from a roll as well. Im not really looking forward to hearing what Road & track has to say, but more looking forward to seeing two drivers in a real world element go at it.

I don't hate american cars... - lets remember, I'm an American...
I clearly do not like Caddy's. There are plenty of great American cars out there. It depends what they are designed for... - plenty of cars with muscle that do well in a straight line - - A Mustang with a SC putting out 450+ is great at the drags, Ford and Chevy make great pickups, Buick makes great family cars etc... -when I want to cruise for hours at 130+mph safely and have the performance when I need it, B M W . . .
