Let's hope. In terms of cheap power, GM may have it all over BMW however.
But the word 'cheap' still comes to mind with GM. I'm guessing for most of us the workmanship and engineering of bimmers has always been a key factor in addition to standard-setting performance. GM (and the Caddy marque) carries a lot of baggage from the past that will have to be overcome with this crowd.
It would be interesting to know GMs targeted markets. They may not be projecting a significant upsetting of M5 loyalty, but rather, further validation of their marque as a serious sports sedan that will appeal mostly to the upwardly mobile boomers who have already been buying American.
