I like that they are using real race drivers...Auberlen and Heinracy...this will be fair.
In the acceleration tests, I predict the Caddy will win. In the track, the M5.
Caddy is really shooting at a 5 year old design....it had better win or GM is really doomed.
If BMW doesn't get their act together for the F10 M5, they are going to lose us faithful.
Couple more days to find out,I'm afraid it will be a sound victory for the Caddy.
We are all in for a shock,a Caddy with better handling, roadholding and performance then M5...
Sacrilegious.....

They're (GM) is five years behind. No innovation, just duplication. CTS-V is for the Corvette crowd that needs a back seat. Just look at your typical Corvette owner........I bet my pet gerbil 9 outta 10 are over 55, and the other 10% can't get a date, are wank yankers and still live at home with MOM. (Forget the back seat, these dudes don't need it.)
Wow, this should be an interesting article. I can't wait to read it. Nice they each got to choose their own test drivers, and they both chose great ones.
My guess at the results:
Straight performance: Caddy
Track performance: Caddy
Track feel: BMW
Winner proclaimed on BMW forums: BMW
Winner proclaimed on Caddy forums: Caddy
Mocking of competition on forums: Tie

The little viral video that GM did at the 'ring was driven by Heinracy. Now with Auberlin driving the M5, there should be no advantage.
I am willing to bet the M5 will still beat the CTS-V at the track....mainly because of power delivery.

M5 is going down...in every category. Unfortunately, BMW screwed up with the E60. It simply isn't as good as what the E39 was at launch. The interior looks like s***, with cheap plastics and all. Seriously, have you ever looked at the HVAC housing for the rear passengers? They tried to address it with the refresh in 2007. The refresh for the E39 was minor at best, because the car was almost perfect.
The fact is that the V will spank the M. It almost happened with the very first CTS-V...it was not better but it was cheaper and offered very similar performance. Now, GM has addressed all the issues...and forget matching the power, they superceeded it.
Sure GM is a copy cat, but doing it better is the way to go...that's what the Japs did to the Americans...and now Americans will do it to the Germans. A good indication is the fact that there is no other 4 door sedan in the world that has more than 500hp combined with a manual tranny...even BMW forgot about it when the E60 was launched...
I am looking for a replacement for my E39, and as much as I want to love the E60, I just can't...that V on the other hand has been calling my name...
No hater responses please...this is just my opinion.

V interior looks like a GM video game............get lost!
I'll bet the Caddy will win the performance numbers match-up. Let's feel good that a 3 year old M5 is still the standard to compare against. From an engine performance perspective - the Caddy motor is 20% larger displacement, it has forced induction and only eeks out 50 more horsepower than the M5.
The victory will be fleeting - until the next gen M5 arrives.
