I have the answer now, as a former Cadillac owner, from a family of former Caddilac owners since JFK was president, the Cadillac, any Caddilac, is a piece of sh$t - - just like a Chrysler...
- - I don't care if they put a jet engine into one, they way they are put together, the mentality is just plain ******ed, shortsighted, B.S. bling and not anywhere near the level of engineering/construction of a BMW. ...and it has nothing to do with me owning a BMW, I would have said the same thing years ago when I didn't own a beemer...
Dayum Mark! You be sounding like a cranky old fart who should be driving a Cadillac!
Yesterdays news...............lets see what the next iteration M5 puts on the road. The E60 hit the market as an 05 in Europe........it's already old technology. Let's see what's next! Cadillac just conjures up all the wrong images for me......
We should be prepared for some disappointment as the results will likely favor the CTS-V in most categories. From a dig, no doubt will the V be faster; it would be interesting to see a race from a roll, however. At least I like the looks of the M5 better, can't beat the V-10 sound, and I believe our delimited top speed will still be higher. Hats off to GM in producing a sedan that can compete performance-wise with the Germans. It would be interesting to see if there is a spike in performance mods to M5's in the months following the release of this article. Our sponsors should be poised for new orders and thank Road and Track.
This one test is a track test. Not 0-60, 1/4 mile, top speed, etc. It should put the M5 on a level playing ground, regarding any lack of low end it may have (except for corner exit).
I have to give credit to Caddy for the balls to put 560hp in a sedan. But anybody can put a big engine (and big tires) in a car. The question is how does it feel? How does it handle? Can an average driver get the most out of it and enjoy it at the same time? And then there is the rest of the car. Does the interior match the BMW? Materials, quality, sound, feel, equipment levels?
I will have to go test drive one just to see, but to be fair, I've not yet test driven the M5! I just don't want to get to the point where I have to justify spending the M5 kind of money. If the CTS-V can give M5 or better performance for 550i prices, that will be something special.

It seems like the numbers say the V clearly out performs the M, but some of you guys are stuck on seeing otherwise, so we'll see when they hit the road.
