I cant drive without getting a transmission failure, but I still LOVE this car!

Its sad that I cant drive my car right now without getting a yellow cog telling me transmision failure. It tells me that continued driving is ok but get to a BMW service center right away. It hesitates getting in gear and sometime even putters. Even with all the trouble the only thing that upsets me is that I dont know how long it is going to be in the shop. I have other transportation, but I hope they give me a loaner. I have not had a chance to schedule an appointment b/c it just happened an hour ago, but dropping car off at 7 in the morning to hopefully get fixed. It is an 06 w 13k on it (hope I dont have to pay for anything.)

13K you should be ok. Hopefully just sensor. If clutch they'll say they don't cover but will usally split. But at 13K its iffy its a clutch. If you've had no problems up till now (no sounds, banging, performance issues) you should be OK. Good luck, thank god its yellow and not red. Does it put you into limp mode? And did you get any temp lights?

It does not let me get into a higher rpm does not say anything about not getting full power. It has been driving a little ruff for the last couple of days. I thought that it was due to cold starts and not driving to far. It did a grinding noise last night. Its hard to explain, but it putters in first gear, and if I rev engine past 4k in any gear.

Don't want to scare you similar to when my clutch went. But it is doing what limp mode does. So if no Red Cog of Death you might be OK. Keep posted.
