Has anyone done the new AFE Intake on the E60 M5?
Has anyone done the AFE Intake on their beast? I'm seriously considering doing this, as I had it on my 2007 530 and loved it. According to AFE, gains are in the range of 28HP and 24TQ. I know, they always exaggerate the numbers, but even half is pretty impressive. Currently, the car has the RPI Scoops and the BMC Filters. I would still keep the RPI Scoops, which hopefully would help even more.

Just curious if anyone else has done this yet?

Yes, couple of people I know have it and they love it. They kept the RPI scoops with it as well. I was thinking about adding it myself. Good luck with your new ride...you enjoying it so far?

Dynojet numbers were an "outstanding" 2HP / 2TQ to the wheels... The fan they used was a regular fan which I bet I "blow" (pun intended) more than it.

Still dont keep your hopes up if your looking at more than 10 HP for $800... And on top of that you still might get the CEL warning... But please post numbers as soon as ur done, the more the better...

AFE Intake
Guys,

We have a few AFE intakes in stock.....

I have not had a chance to dyno a stock M5 or M6 with this set up yet, we have no stock cars in house and I really want to baseline it with a stock car.

All I can say is dyno's arent everything!! I dynoed higher than an M6 that is much faster than mine that has headers & tune.

Does anyone know if you can use the RPI Scoops WITH the AFE Intake?

Aside from the gains, I really like how the AFE sounds on the car. It's nice and deep, not ricey.

I'm getting the AFE Intake for $490 shipped with the Blue Filter. Will - Can you beat that price?

Both sides Calton? Thats a pretty good deal! They say no scoops but both people kept them on and were very happy.

Yep, both sides. Not bad, right? And that's with the Blue Oiled Filters. The Dry Filters are a bit cheaper...I think around $470.

Anyone know the number or URL for RPI? I'm going to call them and ask them about this set-up.
