I think that 30 hp are too many for exhaust only

Did you read the link I provided to you? Headers, cars and exhaust. Standard M5 E39 headers are 540i headers.

The 335i is lighter and even with the jump it still lost. Gustav's car must have at least 420bhp.

So what were the mods on the M6? All things being equal
if the M6 beat the Vishnu v2 by the same number of car
lengths as the Porsche TT then it's got to have something
special? Anyone?

Logically translate to M6(mods) will equal to 997TT. Your M6 would have a chance too
