Just fitted Dinan Exhaust w/ Supersprint X-Pipes...

Hello all...

I just fitted a Dinan Exhaust and Supersprint X-pipes on and I thought I give some thoughts about the setup.

I really like the setup except one area and I'll address that...

My car still has very low mileage (200 miles) so I haven't really driven it all that hard, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

Under load, the car sounds quite tame under 3000 rpm, but between 3000-5500, you can hear that nice F1 bark as you get past 3500. The E60 cabin has some really good sound dampening because although you hear the difference from stock, its not intrusive or disturbing to your bluetooth or audio system. But open the window, and you certainly hear the difference.

Driving the car, I noticed that my SMG shifts are smoother. Again, my car only has 200 miles, so I don't know if it's the car breaking-in, or the difference from fitting the system, but it seems like the shifts are less harsh between 1-2 and 2-3. I never heard anyone else mention this, so I'm not sure if its the car opening up or the new system.

Now for the sad part. The system is freeekin' loud doing a cold start. I only have done one this morning, but it kind of surprised me and woke up the other folks in the house. This might be the deal breaker and I'm wondering if it's that loud because of the x-pipe, or the mufflers. I'm wondering if I should look into the Eisenmann Sport, as I heard that's one of the quieter systems out there. Or, If I should put the stock x-section back on.

I love the system under actual driving, but since I do have to escape from my house every morning and I am the early bird, this might be a deal breaker

Any thoughts??? Maybe an x-pipe with a resonator? Or does that not really matter in dampening the sound for a cold start...

May consider putting back resonator section back and go from there. Member RussRamz has e-sport and experienced droning, so he changed to Dinan.

Interesting... I'm not exactly sure what droning is exactly, but I don't think I'm experiencing any either.

How about a evosport x-pipe with resonator? Who else makes x-pipes with resonators?

how about a video? I'm curious to hear your set-up. I pretty sure both Eisenmanns are louder than Dinan.

The Eisenmann Sport performance level offers the same db level as the OEM exhaust system and sounds fantastic when combined with a set of headers or X-pipe's.
