Moroso track night 4/17

Gentlemen the night was interesting and eventful.
First let me say it was put on by ASR Engineering and 360 Forged which the owner of the monsterous cls63 MB.
All the pics and filming was taken care of and paid by 360 Forged. The night was on his dime.
The Ranger machine came out ahead. The times were not any better than January. We could not get the Mickey Thompsons (not released til June) so had to run on Nitto street drag radials and they were not impressive at all.
Another thing we learned is that the 3.91 diff is killing me. The end result is counter-productive. The mph is being hurt. Running an M5 with stock diff. with nitrous also (the only other E60 M5 with a better 1/4 mile time) we came to this conclusion. The 3.91 is good for around town and 0 to 80 but beyond this we've experienced that it is a crippler. At the 1/8 mile my car is 2 mph faster than the M5 with stock diff and at the end I'm 2 mph slower, therefore losing a total of 4 mph.

We need to get the reaction time / short time much better and the traction out of the hole to improve to achieve a better 1/4 mile run.

On this night could not improve on the best 1/4 mile run of the Ranger machine but on the head to head run with the cls 63 MB the Ranger machine came out ahead. The times were very close (high 11's).
The cls 63 running 150 shot of nitrous with 109 octane and I'm running the 150 shot of nitrous and pump gas.

Bottom line I do not expect to see any videos of the results. At the event I am a low level scum sucking dog who merits no attention.
I apologize if no videos are produced but I have no say.

The M5 ran great and as a true champ. The M5 which has the fastest 1/4 mile time and highest trap speed(126 mph) is also local. The car was also prepared by ASR (Abid's brother). This M5 has been running now for more than 34,000 miles with the nitrous and all is perfect. This is a true testiment to ASR's awesome nitrous set up and how perfect it runs. What do you nonbelievers have to say?

Anyway the M5 runs beautifully but can be better and will!! Abid and I have discussed the next level.

Lets hope the videos do come through.

Thanks for posting your results and Congratulations on the nice runs. Good to hear your M5 came through without any problems.
Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I do hope to see some videos though.

What was your fastest time?

It looked like some good drag radials would help a lot. Does the higher octane fuel help you advance the timing more and make more power? It would be good to see the difference between diffs before you make any other changes. Was it an extra shift that caused the second half of the run to be slower?

Falb that was a run against the other nitrous running M5. They ran essentially even.
11.84 sec. was the best time of the night for the cls 63. It is a strong car but too heavy.
11.78 sec. was the best time of the Ranger machine. There were traction issues and we feel the diff is a not working in the cars' favor.

The black Porsche 997TT was outrageous. That car only has ASR software and a NOS kit and running pump gas. This car ran a 10.81 sec. pass with a trap speed of 132 mph!! The front tires came off the ground 6 inches. The track officials band the car from running again because with these times you need a rollcage and it did not have one.
That car with the ASR tune and 75 shoot of nitrous is savage.

Those of you out there with Porsches checkout ASR software for your car. What Abid has come up with is superior. Sitting in the car as a passenger is absolutely threatening.

It was a good night for the cars we built for 360 forged, breaking both the records for a CLS63 and a Porsche 997tt. All the products on the 997tt are designed and built by ASR. It has our software, exhaust, intake, hardpipe kit with Tial BOV, and nitrous package.

It wouldn't be fair for us to chose sides since both the CLS and M5 were built by us, but Juan's car was the winner at the end of the night. I will get the video for you guys, but keep in mind that it does no justice for the CLS as the tranmission torque limiter slowed the car down by the end of the night. That being said, Juan's M5 is still a faster car even on the best pass of the night for the CLS63. What Juan was saying about the 3.91 is true, it is simply killing us out of the whole causing tremendous wheel spin and loss of mph up top. Hope that clears up some discrepencies.
