Dinan exhaust installation question...

Hi...

I'm in the process of purchasing a used Dinan muffler and I have a quick question regarding the installation. I'm a little unclear if cutting is required to install this exhaust. His dealer says that the Dinan system does NOT require cutting and uses the clamps from the BMW factory exhaust system.

From all the pictures I've seen on this board and the search of previous exhaust installation threads, it looks like cutting is required. The only bolt on section looks to be the between the primary cats on the headers and the secondary cats.

My question is... Is cutting required and does Dinan provide clamps to join the Dinan muffler to the factory exhaust pipes? Or are there existing clamps on the factory exhaust pipes?

Thank you...

P.S.: I downloaded a pic from the Dinan site, and it looks like some clamps are included...It shows a picture of the clamps in the middle of the pic...Are these from Dinan or BMW?

Cutting is required. I am fairly certain the clamps are included.

Yeah, I watched my install, and cutting is definitely required.

Right...I got that part. But the only part that is "bolt on" so to speak is between the primary cats and secondary cat section right?

Replacing any other sections (ie. x-pipe and exhaust) need cutting correct?

Basically I'm doing the SS X pipe and dinan mufflers...

YES you have to cut pipes,Yes clamps come with new pipes.Make sure you figure in for expantion or the tips will look like missile launchers. I installed them myself with a freind in about 40-50 min. without a lift.It was to easy if you have a floor jack and a sawsall go for it.
