Anybody have bluetooth problems? [Bluetooth problems with Blackberry 8300]
I have a blackberry 8300. My dealer set it for me the first day I got the car and it worked a week or so. Now it does not pair to the car, but i have bluetooth activation on. I kept trying to pair it from the phone, but it keeps giving me a failed error. I deleted the device out of the car and tried to redo it. Its still not working.
Anyone have this problem? (before I bring it to dealer to find out)
I am using the BB 8300 as well. The first thing I did was set the BB to NOT sync contacts with the car. I have over 2000 contacts, and it would take too long. Secondly, I deleted the profile in the phone AND the car whenever I needed to started over, as well as turning off the car, getting out, and locking it.(i know it sounds OCD, but I wanted to truly re-set the process).
I had problems in my 07 550i, where occasionally, even though the car and phone were paired, it would not see the phone. I am not having that issue in the M5 with the same phone.
When checking the BMW website, technically, the BB 8300 is not an approved device. My salesperson told me the same thing, and then proceeded to say it was ok. This is where I went. http://www.wireless4bmw.com/bmw5.html

I use the BB 8800 and it works most of the time but Zakato is correct, you really have to reset both devices when they get out of sync. The contact sync is more trouble than it's worth since in my case it only does A-M. I only have about 1500 contacts but it stores every number separately so maybe it gets full? Who knows, the car certainly doesn't tell me. The electronics gadgets are not this car's strong suit (Navi especially).

No problems here. Sometimes it lags when you first get in the car, but once it's connected it's perfect.
I really think BMW could design the system in a much better way. An example is if you are on a call and you get in the car it pics up the call. The other party can hear you, but you can't hear them yet.
Pick it up all the way or dont pick it up at all!!! Idrive = love/hate relationship.

I have the 8300 and it works just fine. It does at times take a bit to get started.
Anybody now if you can have two phones paired at the sametime? For instance, my wife has one also. I haven't bothered to try yet.

dnelon, thanks but i think i'll just make some time to go back to my dealer and see what they can do.
rodster, i think you should be able to pair another blackberry since it does allow us to pair more devices- the pin on the other blackberry would probably be different
