A lot, but not as much as when you don't use LC and just punch the throttle from a standstill with DSC off.

There doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to this one I'm afraid, but my understanding is that the US launch control is a crippled version so that you never run into warranty issues using LC over and over again but somebody could do with writing to BMW NA and asking the question and posting an official response on the forum.

The European and other models with full LC are more likely to run into warranty issues if excessive use of launch control is suspect for any early parts failures. Whilst I've only used LC a handful of times, if BMW argued I'd used it too much my argument with be there is no official documentation detailing maximum number uses of LC, no warnings as to reaching the LC count limit, no end user view of LC count, etc.

The fact there is no way for us an as end users to view the LC count is also very important issue to raise when buying an approved used (CPO'd) car, you'd probably be less inclined to buy a car that's had full LC used 100+ times compared to one that's used LC once!

I'll try and get a quick video done this week of all the steps except for the actual launch itself and plonk it on youtube with an embedded version in this thread. Would go and do it on the driveway now but don't think the neighbours would appreciate me revving away at 4000rpm
