I really like the exhaust. Sounds great but don't expect significant
performance gains. Software I can't speak for. It seems like most of the
reported gains would come from removing the charcoal filters
which is part of the software install process.
Yaeh just read a long thread on the software - not sure if I should do it?? I think the exhaust I'll do, but am hesitant on forking out a bunch of cash on the software.... Is it hard to remove the chacoal filters yourself?
i got dinan software !! and when i got it i thought it was a waste since my filters were already out, when i got the car back i didnt feel any diff's !!
when i lined up with a buddy with the exact same mod's i actually pulled on him quite a bit !! and since then my car runs reallly strong !!
During the week the software was installed on my M, it idled rough when not fully warmed up and caused emission's faults. My dealership told me it would not work with my car and asked to remove it.
Other than not bouncing off the rev limiter, didn't notice any performance improvements.
OK - got my exhaust done... Looks GREAT! Sounds a little better than the factory gear. I can feel a difference for sure - nothing major... But I do like it especially when I lay into it around 3rd gear - nice sound and feel. I did not opt for the software upgrade - thanks to andrew sherman I held back on it and came home and removed the charcoal filters per the DIY pics he sent. THANKS.. Took it for a spin and you can definitely feel an improvement... I would have to say that freed up those free $$ ponies....:M5launch: I am opting to hold off for a bit until I can hear some consistant good news on the sofware - other than it gets your car delimited... I may get the slip dif done next month - not sure - the dealer tells me it helps out in the take off of the car, but is it worth over 3G's?? :confused2
I would assume - I just googled a picture of the M6 engine 2007 - it looks just like whats under my hood... :confused2 If it is the same - it took me 20 min to do. the one on the drivers side took me the longest just because there is more suff around the box, and that back clip is a pain in the grrrrrrr... to clip. Nothing major to do... Anyone verify if the M6 layout is the same for sure??:confused2
Let me see what I can do... I love the sound especially when pounding it in 3rd and 4th gear... I think it sounds like a formula 1 race car...:M5launch: Its not annoying and it sounds - lets say professional..... I was out in it today and driving though some parking lots and people were turning there heads (not in annoyance) when i would slightly give it a rev... I Love It!!!!!

+1 Definitely turns a lot of heads and sounds quite aggressive at full throttle. At the same time, I have no annoying interior noise/drone while cruising. Also masks a lot of the "diesel sound" at idle.
I bet that sounds sweet.... so if you're not hitting the gas, just cruising, how's the sound inside the car, too loud? or slightly louder? I like E. race, but its way too loud!
