hi everyone,

well after not being an M5 owner for few years I am back. I purchased an Alpine White over full portland brown merino leather/madeira walnut trim. it is a 6 speed and it has the following options, heated steering wheel, comfort access, multifunction seats, fold down rear seats, heated rear seats, i pod, head-up display, hd radio, enhanced premium sound, and sirius. i traded an 07 RS-4. the RS-4 was a terrific car. it was my 3rd Audi in a row after my 2003 M5.

i was at my local BMW dealer when my car was delivered on friday. i didn't order it but when it came off the truck i had to have a look. took it for a test drive on saturday. about 1 mile into the test drive i knew that i was trading my pristine 3000 mile RS-4 in. the 6 speed is silky smooth in this car. it feels almost stall proof. comfort level is fantastic as is the high luxury content. fit and finish are great. these cars are technological marvels. tonight i start reading the manual. :)

Hi

If you do a search you will find my story almost the same, except I had 2800 miles on my RS4 and got a fully loaded Alpine w/SMG.

Congrats. Did you post on AW ?

yes i post on audiworld. my screen name is A8inPA.
i saw where you moved on to the M5. how is your experience so far?
I'm going to post about my defection on AW tonight. both are great cars.
i would have liked to keep both but since i don't put a lot of miles on my
cars it would have been a waste. i like the clutch action in the M5 much much better than i did in the RS-4. starting off in 1ST gear was at times frustrating with the Audi. other than that i loved the car inside and out.
in the end I'm a car nut that needs true shock therapy to correct my automobile addiction!ouich maybe there should be a show on A&E about automobile addiction instead of drugs!:eek:oohhh:

For the longest time I htought it was me that could not make that 1 -2 shift work well...it drove me nuts!

I love the M5, but I had a M3 with SMG and it was a must for me on the M5. As far as technology between the RS4 and M, night and day.

I will say this though, I have seen about 15 M5's here in OC compared to seeing 2 RS4's in 9 months.

Good luck.

Still waiting on those pics. Really want to see that color combo...

Congrats M5inPA on your acquisition. Great choice, I too have a white M5 and currently own an RS4 (imola yellow). Its been a good car but it does not roll over anyone. In the competitive encounters out there it's no killer event w/ 420 bhp :dunno:? I too plan to get rid of it.
Send pics of your M5 asap.

Good luck,
M5Ranger

thanks for the warm welcome guys. finally got a chance and took the car out tonight. one thing is for sure the high beams on these vehicles are the brightest i have ever experienced. they turned night into day:eek:oohhh: i still can't get over how smooth the clutch action is in this vehicle. the stereo is fantastic. i'm still in the learning curve on many of the technical aspects of the car but to be honest for me that is one of the fun parts of a new vehicle. finally found the usb cable. so here are some photos. i took them friday morning and it was seriously cold here in pennsylvania. froze my nuts off:eek: here are a couple of my daily driver also.
