However, IIRC, Supersprint only makes racing cats, which replace the secondary cats that must be used in conjuction with their headers. The headers themselves replace the one piece exhaust manifold/primary cats.
Supersprint makes an X pipe that replace the resonators and for exhaust cans you have a choice of race or sport versions. Checkout their website.
Supersprint exhaust tone increase is slight at idle to big difference at WOT.
As to Eisenmann in comparison, go to their website and you'll will see their Sec 1 which replaces the 2ndary Cats, Sec 2 aka X pipe and a several choice of exhaust cans.
Evosport has come out with their own line of similar components. Go to the Sponser threads to checkout.
As to your other questions, others can chime in or you can do a search and read the many many threads regarding power/torque increase, if any, throttle response and sound.
As to smell of exhaust fumes, as with any cat-back exhaust, there is no discernible difference.
Its only when you remove the main cats when there's a change in smell of the exhaust fumes.
As I have already stated, the OEM exhaust manifold has the main cats built into it. Turner Motorsports makes package that replaces the main cats.
w/o 2nd cat, the engine will definitely rumble/raspy more. Even with stock muffler. I have seen some torque gain from 2nd cat deleted from NobleM400 dyno. IMO, I didn't feel any different, but louder/groaning. No CEL light as well.
There's my dyno for before/after the Eisenmann section 1 (basically secondary cat replacement). As you can see, except for a very small loss of torque from 3500 to 4700 rpm, there's a gain in power throughout most of the rest of the powerband.
I think the best way for you to determine the most power output for the V10 is to look at dyno charts like the guys suggest...the charts don't lie if the base line is set correctly.
I had the X-pipe as well. When I got the SS headers installed we tried it with sec 1 and 2 with race exhaust. Car drove and sounded like ****. a lot of popping and all noise. It didn't sound refined. There was no back pressure at all. We immediately added the stock mid section in(secondary cats and resonators). Wow what a difference. Loud but deep clean tone from the exhaust, more HP and more Torque.
