Invoice vs MSRP prices??

So I have kind of a random question, hopefully someone can shed some light.

Obviously there is a dealer invoice price that is relative to the base MSRP price for any random vehicle. I would assume that as a customer adds various options to the vehicle, the dealer invoice goes up....the question I have is, how much does the dealer invoice increase? For example, say the customer adds a $1,000 option to the vehicle, how much does this increase the dealers invoice price? I'm guessing they don't pay the full $1k, so how much of a percent do they get off of each option? Is it universal for most vehicles? Sorry if this is a stupid question! Thanks.

If it is a $1000 dollar option the dealer may actually only pay $900 and the balance is marked up to the buyer. It is pretty much relative to the cost of the option as to what the difference would be.

These are numbers for the M6 but you probably get the idea:

Wholesale vs MSRP (USA) FYI

Do a search for wholesale and you'll probably find what you need.

That is helpful....someone in that thread responded saying dealers actually pay less than the wholesale prices. Is this true? I am clueless when it comes to this.
