if you can justify $250/hp that's up to you but imho no exhaust system is worth 10+ grand...unless it comes with at least one turbo and the software and hardware to safely add 150hp. at supersprint's price, a claimed 40-50hp just doesn't cut it when you can have a good fabricator custom build an equivalent or better system for half the price.

It's a high price for a car....The after market suppliers figure we have LOTS of $$$$ to spend and we will spend a lot more to make it go faster than a 70K Corvette, which will NEVER happen.....sorry facts are facts....but look at it this way, it seats 5 people and is a great road car. I love my M5 for what it is....a pig.

Evosport or RD sport headers are some examples of cheaper alternative...they selling at around $4,500

I have the SS headers without their cats ( too much ) and I am satisfied with the product. The claim of 40 to 50 hp I highly question unless it's crank hp. It sure it's to the wheels!! My car dyno'ed stock 408 rwhp and after the SSheaders, Evosport pulley, Evosport 3.91 diff and the AA ECU stage 2 upgrade the car dyno'ed 460rwhp. Total of 52 rwhp after the mods. Therefore 40 to 50 hp from headers alone is bogus. I've since added the Gruppe M intakes and the Dinan throttle bodies and after re-dyno'ing the car I made a wooping ZERO hp !!! Still at 460 rwhp. The car runs strong I must admit, the so called " butt dyno ". Good luck to you and you may consider the Evosport headers. I know those who have and are happy and they are good guys over at Evosport.

Hi M5ranger, from my experience throttle bodies and intakes gives you little peak hp gains, but sometimes they do help to optimize the power delivery...probably has less dips on your dyno chart
