Sounds to me like after k&n made these for the e60 m5 and tested them, they decided the hp gains were not worth the hassel to make them for the m6. If the 21hp claim is true, why would'nt they want to make them for the m6?

Not enough demand for M6 probably.

Patience guys. Both Dinan and Evosport are working a solution for the M6.

True Russ. Dinan's should be nice from what I've heard, but don't expect to see them south of $1,000.

There are two air scoops - the bottom one coming from the air ducts doesn't direct a lot of air up to the intakes, another pair to the sides of the radiator (GruppeM's intake adds a second one there) get the air more forcefully to the intakes as your speed increases. GruppeM's method of adding the extra aur scoop to get more forced air to the intakes is nice.

K&N's decision to not make the M6 intakes is based on the even more limited production of the vehicle compared to the M5. They were surprised by the initial response from people for a potential group buy on the board, but as business-people they just don't think there is enough demand there. They could be proven wrong, but I think they would need a large commitment to make the time worthwhile to design a new filter and the heat shield necessary.

I went with BMC filters for my M6 since K&N was getting bad press.. So far I am very happy with them. Engine is a bit snappier, mid and high range improvement.

good deal with dyno they are offering now!

I'm running the BMC's as well. Any word on the HP gains? The site shows the dyno offer, but no hp #'s.

Thanks!

I havent gotten my car back to do after dyno. I had done exhaust and pulley as well. Those items took a few hundred miles to adapt so I wanted the ECU to adapt to the filters before dyno. Will do it soon!
