The Eagle has landed!!

Thanks to my pal Peter at the bimmer.org board, he was able to call wlna to track down the arrival window of Gingu Maru. (appx. 8:00pm, 10/17/01) These are some of the pictures he took as he chase the boat down the waterway as it arrives in Port of N.Y.

Oh Baby!! 9 days to go 'till we met!!!

This is dedication if I ever saw it. I have seen and heard of guys chasing down the dealer or the delivery truck, but I have never seen someone chasing down the ship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its worth the wait, but chasing the boat.......this sets a new level. .

Bart,
Its a week 39, but went into production on week 37.

Also, (hate to tell you this) If you are taking delivery in west coast, the car will come thru Port Hueneme VPC (Oxnard, CA) . Translation: add at least 4 weeks to east coast arrival date.

My car is coming thru my dealer in Ohio, that's why it came thru N.Y. VPC. Fortunately (or Unfortunately) I have to plan our vacation around that, and will be driving the car back to West coast (2,500 miles).

Kewl!

You guys are toooooo much!

This is a first for the board. I've seen pics of cars at the docs, vpc but the ship?

If only you can get a picture of the unloading process and from the vpc to the carrier.

I know where the NJ vpc is. If you need any help

Congrats & best wishes.

Ok now, I have seen everything. Since you are so good at chasing down ships, I just found out that my M5 which was production week 40 was put on a ship that left October 12 will arrive in Oxnard, CA November 7th.
So BeeWang, can you go out to sea and get a pic of it crossing the Atlantic or better yet... I will give money for someone to take a pic of it going through the Panama Canal!
