Team Dynamics Wheels

Anyone know of any Team Dynamics dealers in the US preferably East coast?
Found one Aim Tires in CA but no others.
Also comments concerning Team Dynamics Competition Wheels. Looking at Race 1.2 9 inch 17 or 18's both front and rear. Only considering 17's because of track tire selections.

I was thinking that the brake clearance would be an issue but was told it depended on the wheel. I have not been able to talk to anyone concerning any issues with Team Dynamics wheels. Do you know any dealers?

Team Dynamics

You can try James Clay at Bimmerworld. I would also be interested in seeing if Team Dynamics makes or would make a run of wheels for us. Not sure if they make an 18 with the proper centerbore (74.1 right?) wheel for our car. It would be special order I think, but might be totally worth it, as these are very light and strong wheels. Oh, and much less expensive.

Please let us know what he says.

Edit: just put a call in, appear to be closed, holiday maybe?

I have seen the Team Dynamics 1.2 on two E39 M5's at the track but I was not in the market at the time and did not ask how they got them or what size they were running. My bad. I have emailed one of the guys through the nccbmwcca board. Hopefully he will get back to me. I will also get in touch with Bimmerworld tomorrow. I only saw wheels for the e36 and e46 on their site but that does not mean anything.

18x9 and they are still heavier than SSR GT2-Hs. My 18x10s are 17.9lbs with the billet aluminum center cap still in.

Bendy

My problem with the SSR's is everyone bends them here in Denver. (R ROADS SUCK!!)

I just got back from Woody's Wheel Works. You guys are not going to believe this. This car went through two pre purchase inspections, each time explaining that there was a vibration in the car and could they please check the balance of the tires. Both said they were off, second dealer said the rear tires could not be balanced and should be replaced (they were free of charge through the tire rack, they had less than 300 miles). And guess what? Vibration was still there after each dealer balanced them. And guess what WWW found? Three mildly bent wheels and three wheels that required re-balancing. I watched the work in their garage and saw the slight bends in all three wheels; only noticeable when spinning the wheel by hand.

Do they have monkeys working the tire balancing gear at the dealers?

Can't road test at the moment, highways' closed, but at lower speeds, felt much smoother. All the bends are on the inside (the weaker part of the wheel furtherest from the spokes).

Let's continue to pursue the Team Dynamics!

Also, SSR's are more expensive.

Spoke with Jay yesterday. He said he would have to call Team Dynamics to find out if they make or could make a set of 1.2 for the e39 M5. He said he would get back with me. Will keep you updated. I asked to make sure the wheels would fit over Front Stop Tech ST40 Calipers with 355 rotors and stock rotors in rear. He asked me about offsets and I was unsure so I did not give him a figure. I have read hear on some postings that the fronts needed to be 13mm for the Stop Techs but I figured I would let them figure it out just to see what they came up with. I figure that way if they do not fit they will have to take them back.

O yeah forgot to mention I asked for same size width for all four wheels and to see if both 17 and 18 inch will fit. Same width as stock rear. Not sure if that will happen since they do not specify 9.5 in their standard line. Probably will be 9 inch width. I asked about the 17 inch wheels because of the greater selection of less expensive track tires. A guy with a VW R32 at the track mentioned that he moved from 18 to 17 inch wheels to get a better selection on the track tires and just upped the size from 35 to 40 tires.

I have seen alot of the Team Dynamics wheels on the e36 and e46 cars at the track and everyone says they are very strong and affordable. I also like the way they look. I have not heard back from my fellow M5 tracker who had a set of team dynamics on his car. I had to try to contact him through the local BMWCCA board.
