Ammonia smell out of the exhaust?

I was loading my daughters stroller into the trunk (with the car idling it is 112 degrees here) and I got a REAL HEAVY smell of ammonia out of the exhaust is this normal???

Hmmm, in other cars that- rotten egg smell is signs of a cat or cats going bad

Mine makes the ammonia smell, too.

It isn't the rotten egg/sulfur smell, it burns more than that.

No promise that they aren't going bad but mine have been doing it for a while with no ill side effects.

Even if the cats were going bad I believe federal law requires BMW to replace them if they are under 6 years old and under 80k miles.
