Male vs Female passengers

Coming up *my* road, there's a big sweeping "20mph" curve that I now know as well as any man has ever known any curve. Lots of fun. I'll usually slow way down and let the cars in front of me get ahead so that I can fly through this. Now, when I have my girls in the car, when they sense me slowing down they know *why* I am, and they immediately start yelling at me. Party over. However, last night, for the first time ever, I had 3 male passengers. When I did my slow-down act, despite never driving with me before, they knew exactly what was coming and they were all like: "Yeah! Go for it!" So I did...albiet with 600lbs more ballast than I ever took through that turn before. Despite fairly new RA1's, I still got a *little* sideways as I went through about as fast as ever did solo (70mph?). Not sure any of them had any idea that "Blue Belle" (I hate you Dan ) could do that, and they were all massively impressed.

Oh...one of them has a Prius, and wanted to drive last night, but he got voted down.

My wife thinks her Lexus LX470 SUV is quicker than my car because I drive very differently when she is in the car. I don't want her to know the whole truth. My two sons know otherwise.

I get the same thing here when my wife is in the car. She thinks im like a big kid when im driving and she's right. I get my daughter in the car and she always wants to play Little Einsteins in the car (Disney cartoon in which the kids ride around in a rocket) and The M5 is rocket. I get "Go faster Daddy!" all the time. She's gonna be a gearhead and I love it!

When I first took my girlfriend for a ride in Diablo, I was a tad conservative, and she urged me on. I give her some juice (the car, not the girlfriend), and then all I heard was 'faster!! faster!!!' She couldn't get enough.

Gotta love chicks who love cars!

My wife thinks I drive too fast.

And when she's in the car I'm keeping it at 5/10s!

Yep. I did have a revelation though. I have this reputation for "driving too fast". Now, that's true, however, I think some of it has to do with the fact that I know my car, and what it can do. My passengers are used to what *their* cars can do, and their cars can't take 20mph turns at 70. Hence they freak out.

I especially notice this if/when I pick up someone from a "flyover state" at the airport. Dude's used to driving a combine to work, and 2mi outside of the airport he's now doing 90mph (just like *everyone is*) on a 5 lane highway. *I* take this for granted, and it's not until I notice dude turning white that I think: "Hmmm...perhaps he doesn't do this everyday."

Haha I've noticed the same thing whether I'm in the M5 or the e92 335i. My favorite is when it happens unexpectedly and you get the scream followed by a few choice explicit words. I'm usually thinking to myself a combination of, "wow, DSC didn't even flash once, I could've pushed harder!" and "I'm thankful that I'm fortunate enough to enjoy toys like this on a daily basis."

I think when I find one that enjoys it as much as I do she might be a keeper.

Cheers!
-Chris

My experience has been the opposite of JD's, all the ladies that ride in my car seem to want more or are very content and feel safe no matter what speed im going, or how fast I take turns. On the other hand a friend of mine flipped his SUV so hes extremely paranoid about taking turns quickly. I take a 30MPH corner at about 40MPH not even pushing the car at all and hes holding on the handle and begging me to slow down I don't want to crash lol. Unfortunately my car is out of commission as of now, I MISS IT SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!
