Factory optional wheels?

I am looking at a M5 to purchase and it has what looks like ACS wheels on it that the seller is claiming were an option when he purchased the car. I emailed him to confirm this.

This is the first I have ever heard of this and was curious to see if it is indeed an available option at the time of if he is bs-ing.

Thanks for the feedback. Attached is the link... I have NO affiliation with this sale or the seller.

I dont think they came from the factory as this is the only one I have seen. If they were an option, I think more would have them...... What's the point in BS'ing that???

He may not be BSing you.

These may be a "dealer installed option" which means "anything the dealer wants to do".

They are not a 'factory' option.

But whatever- plenty of cars sold with aftermarket wheels. (And the center BMW insignia snaps into any wheel with a centerbore.)

Good Luck

Thanks for the responses. I was curious as I never heard of optional factory wheels, but assume anything can be 'Optional'

One problem is if everything works out and they are real ACS wheels, I don't know if you still can buy those wheels...just incase you bent/ crack one...and the way i see it it doesn't matter if it was an added option from the dealer or not he would have paid extra for them anyway...just my 2 cents...

Just a dealer installed option, I have seen that locally before (though never those wheels in particular).

Whether the seller know nothing about about it , or its a BS.

Second of all, the wheel is a knock-off replica of ACS Type II-3pc.
The real ACS has different shape of the step lip. And the shape of the spoke is very distinct.

Not to mention the number of assembly bolts in the wheel on those two pics is vastly different!
