Beast listing to the right -- shocks?

My 2000/48K car is leaning to the right, and I see a few less inches clearance over the right rear tire compared to the left. Prior to that, I heard ugly "thump" noises when going over uneven bumps, mostly coming from the right side. Before I take it in, which I will, I would appreciate it if anyone has an "internet diagnosis." Reason being, if I need to replace shocks or springs or what have you, I'd prefer to buy them myself and have them installed since sometimes there are "better than OEM" replacements.

Any insights much appreciated

Listing to the right? That's not suicidal, that's just a cry for help. Guardrail damage does not kill. Listing to the left is suicidal, onto oncoming traffic.

But seriously... check shock mounts as well as shocks themselves.

Springs likely culprit

If you have lower ride than normal, it is more likely your springs.

Strange to see bad springs at 48k though. Seems fairly early, unless the car has been through the wringer.

Bad shocks will result in the car continuing to bounce after a bump. Bad springs will permit the car to sag and bottom out.

Driven.

Shift the body in the trunk to the left more to compensate... Could be the springs , that's a good place to start .

camber

you might need to have an aligment done . If the camber is in or out it will affect the height on the car. I know that because when i lower my car
they did the aligment and they did not adjust the camber and one side was lower than the other, so i took it to a diferent place and i told them about the camber a they made sure that the camber was the same in both side and that took care of that problem.
