Thanks to my friends Shane at "Sha Automotive" (he doesnt have a name for his shop, but thats what imma call it for now), Brent at Britalman, and Troy and Albert and Will from Group5 Motorsports.
The exhaust is super clean. The stainless steel is just beautiful. The mufflers are clean and tasteful. Have a muscle car look to the canisters. The tips are large and meaningful. I think they match the car very nicely. They fill out the valence.
We'll my buddy Shane was busy this week and couldnt help me with installation of the Britalman exhaust for bimmerfest.
We'll last minute Friday morning, I borrow Paul's FJ to move the exhaust to Group5 in the morning, and Albert books me down for 4pm that afternoon.
Troy and Will took their time helping me install the Britalman exhaust. Interestingly enough, things usually take longer than planned when it comes to modding cars.
Had some funkiness with the heatshield. Darn thing is tight fit underneath the car.
But some tinkering, we got the sucker to fit, and then the exhaust tips were tight near the carbon fiber Vorsteiner rear valence, but with some more tinkering, we got lil more gap.
After 3.5 hrs of driving from waking up at 2:30AM on Saturday, and departing at 3AM, I got some good seat time with the new exhaust. The thing is awesome. Has beautiful deep growl when you start up the car. And then quiets down at idle. Then from about 1k-2k RPM its got a really mean sound. Very very deep, on some occassions, rattles in the car =) Vrrooom
Once you cruise around at normal driving speeds, the sound is noticable, but nothing too crazy. But when you get on the throttle, the exhaust note really opens up. The car sounds amazing when taking off.
The best part of this setup, the exhaust is extreme quiet at highway speeds. From 60-100mph with cruising food, you dont even notice. Literally sounds like the stock exhaust system when its cruising. Light acceleration at highway speeds doesnt not increase the sound at all. But downshift, and you immediately open up the beast.
The car is definitely meaner now. It fits the nature of a 400hp animal much better than the stock exhaust system.
Plus the evil 83mm dual exhaust tips fit nicely with the Vorsteiner rear.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with the exhaust and the car now.
