Ultrasonic spark plugs?

25 more horespower!

uuuhhhh...that's on a 850 hp motor.

that's.....3%. well, if true, every little bit helps. However, longevity, reliability, etc..are all issues. I'm not afraid to try new things, but, well. I dunno.

Just thought I'd toss this one onto the board. Seems interesting, from a technological angle. Tying up such things in patents is good in the individual sense (for the patent holder), but it curtails widespread involvement.

The dyno test is a complete farce. Spark plug patents are everywhere. This is worse than the Splitfire claim where they eventually went down in a fireball of lawsuits and they LOST. The truth emerged years after Splitfire captured a huge market share with 100% false claims. Hot Rodding Magazine started the race hype on those plugs with a dyno test. Years later, Tech's who got caught up in this advertizing controversy admitted they compared used, worn & possibly misfiring plugs to new indexed plugs for a whopping 10% gain. They never told a soul.

Here's some things that pop out in my 1 minute assessment:

1) The original spark plug type is unspecified.
2) The original spark plug condition and mileage is unspecified
3) The timing was changed after the new spark plugs were installed!! That is a 100% no-no for A-B comparison tests and it will affect output.
4) Independent testing & validation was not confirmed
5) Certain Chevy wedge quench motors love spark plug indexing for maximize power. This is where you rotate the electrode away from the piston by putting washers under the plug to limit it's torqued depth. There is no comment about indexing on this 800+ HP motor and this is very curious to say the least.
6) A clever test tech or engineer can simply hand-pick 8 brand A plugs with optimal electrode indexing (without any need for washers) and then pick 8 brand B plugs that are indexed 180 degrees out. This will produce maximum HP delta in dyno results in ANY A-B brand plug comparo. A $1 plug could crush a $13 plug by doing this. This is precisely why you don't let Bob test his patented plugs at his buddy's dyno shop. This pre-planned "trick" can fool anyone, including independent observers.

That infomercial is 100% unverified propaganda & it sickens me to know a bunch of folks will bite on it.

What more can one say after Lscman, spot one once again.
I'm wondering if these are the plugs with the holes drilled in the ground electrode.
Hey I tested the first type of Splitfires back in the 80's for a magazine.
All they were just Autolite plugs smacked with a punch to split it.
They worked better then a stock autolite due to the sharp edges holding the spark in the area of the center electrode. A stock V power NGK will out perform them.

So can we get these in the iradium BMW quad tip?
