Independents in the Philly area?

So I am looking to start a relationship with one of the local indy's here in the philly area. Tompson BMW is my dealer, and they have been very good to me. But, as we all know there is just some stuff they charge WAY to much for.

I have looked into VAC Motorsports and Bavarian Specialties in particular, but know nothing about these two shops. Input?

With my Audis I have always trusted AWE and PES tunning and am looking for someone that will be up to those standards.

Any input would be great guys, I am looking into getting some more mods done that will be outside of my scope of pratice, so I need a good shop.

TIA,
Ryan

I've had good luck with Bavarian Specialties. They can be a little pricey, but there work has always been top notch when I have used them. They are in King Of Prussia. There is also Bimmerwerks based out of West Chester. I do not have first hand knowledge of them, but have heard very good things about them too. I used Bav since it is more convenient for me.

www.bimmerworks.com is a great shop and the owner/master mechanic is very good. They're also an authorized Dinan, Supersprint, and soon to be Powechips shop.

I biring my beast there everytime I need work done. They get real busy as they've been growing their customer base so the only advice when you go to them is to schedule it in advance.

Steve, the owner had just transplanted a X5 4.6is engine into a 7 series with e39 M5 Supersprint headers, x-pipe, & exhaust. He's very knowledgeable so no issues from a mechanical/technical perspective.

Hope this helps.

I've also had great experiences with Bavarian Specialties. Mike Yaskin is the owner and he's always been a pleasure to work with. I've also heard great things about the quality of the work at Bimmerworks though they are a bit more expensive (about $500 more to install Dinan suspension and diff) and further from home for me.

Just got my Clutch/Flywheel and a SS exhaust and X Pipe done this week. They did a great job. No complaints and much better than Mainline BMW. I will be going back for teh service II piece and any other issues that may develop. They also said they would proces aftermarket warranties such as EZCARE. Hope this helps.
