I think this was the very very first mod I did in what is now an extensive list. Wasn't sure if I wanted to spend over $1500 for Dinan or AA, or some other CAI setup without knowing there are immediate returns. And I did the right think - the best $100 ever spent, and I would not pay for a brand name CAI knowing that there are no meaningful hp benefits to be had (forget the 35hp claim some makers state). The one thing you will notice is change the throatiness of your exhaust. Is that worth $100, hell yeah, $1500...mmmmnah.
I got the stainless steel 'professional' grade sink drains, although the chrome ones may look better for you (you can see pics in my galery). I personally love the look, a lot more aggressive and predatory.

As I understand it, the Dinan CAI do not connect to the area near the fog lites... but do direct air from the front wheel well to the plenum. The sink drain HD mod does direct air to the front brakes but is located just inside the lower middle grill, not in the area that houses the fog lites... at least that's how it was done on my car. I think there is a Hartge mod that converts the space next housing the fog lites that will also direct the air to the brakes but it is way more expensive than the HD version... In a nutshell, the Dinan CAI is for the plenum and Sink Drain Home Depot mod is for the brakes.
Why would you do that when the Dinan CAI pulls air from the foglight area ??? IMO the sink drain idea is a bit tacky..
Because the front bumper will be off at that time, might as well do 2 things at once.
Things may change when I get the bumper off and see how everything is laid out in there.
What in the name of freedom is the "sink drain" thing??

IMO I like the way the sink drain looks. There a number of different degrees of doing it. If you only add the drains then it would be purely cosmetic. If you can get some of the air flowing toward the brakes than that will be a added benefit.
