Front strut brace alternative to Dinan?

I missed out on Tim W's used Dinan front strut brace, but found one that looks good at: www.procarparts.com. They claim there is a difference between the model year 2000 and model year 2001 strut towers so the product they sell (E39B-CNC-FSTB) for $239.95 will not fit my car.

Anybody know if there was a change between model years? Or better yet, has anyone tried this product on a 2001?

Thanks in advance.

That strut brace looks like a nice option. I have two questions on it (aside from your question on whether it will fit a 2001.)
Do they really do anything to stiffen the front end? Is it basically a garage type install where one side at a time can be unnbolted and then the two sides attached?
