Toyo Proxes 4 - Anyone Use or Experience?

Hey.

I need to get my snows off, and move to a summer tire before the end of next week.

I can get a decent deal on these tires ($800 less then PS2 for all 4 tires installed).

Does anyone have any experience with these? I do a lot of highway commuting, and do not track or anything. I really just need something that runs decent, and wont burn off after 10K Kms.

Any input appreciated.

Got them on the wagon...only been on for a week...quiet so far, but I've heard they don't last as long.

I have them on my 02. They are fine for regular use. I have not tracked them yet, but I hear that is where they are really lacking. I only got them because the dealer I bought my car from would only put those on the car, so mine were free and they would not budge and get me a "better" tire...(PS2's0)

Are you looking for PS2's or for Toyo RA-1's like the title said?

If you are only doing highway driving, of the the get the PS2's. They preform well, quiet and will last you 10k km if you have the right inflation and don't do many burn outs.

I had a set of T1S's on my Audi wagon. Then replaced P4's on my Audi wagon, and immediately swapped by to T1R's

Keep in mind, the car was identical, with same BBS RS-GT's and coilovers.

I could noticeably feel the T1 series tires vastly better than the Proxes4.

I'd get the T1R's over the Proxes4. The PS2 are by far the best street tire out there, however, for the money, i still would opt for the T1R or the Falken 452's

Hey All.

Thanks for the tips. I got a similar deal on the T1-R, so I went with them (almost the same price as Proxes 4).

I get them installed next week, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I have Proxes 4's on the rear (previous owner didn't match front/rear). I was in on the recent group buy for R-compound Toyo's, and I have yet to swap them.

The Proxes has great traction, and even with lots of hard acceleration with wheelspin, they dig in quickly. I don't have anything to compare them to as yet. I've been putting off swapping because I still have plenty of tread, and they may be better in the rain than RA-1's.

They might be better in the rain compared to the RA1's, but actually the RA1's with full tread is pretty decent tire, they use em on the Audi's for Speed GT serioes

But they are AWD and they are full tread

once those treads are worn in, DO NOT drive in the rain with RA1's hahah trust me

my friend with Audi A4 use to daily on RA1's til rain season in SoCal then he got scared

Toyo T1-S's on my car last year when I bought it. I now have the T1R's on, with an extra set waiting in the basement when these wear out. I love the tires on the M5 and will consider them for my 993 when the time comes. This is my first time with Toyo's and have been happy with dry and wet performance as well as the low noise and predictability. I don't have experience with the Proxes 4 however.
