Just re-read the BMWcar issue on Discovery Automotive
Going through my old mags today I found issues October 2004 of BMWcar
I read the part again about the DA Z8 & M5, and I remember not thinking too much about that stuff in 2004.
I'd like to say I am always sceptic about Dinan S3, DA S/C, UUC with their endless abbrevations etc, but re-reading this article added by the knowledge gained from this board since 2004, I must say that the guys at DA did a great job.
The craftsmanship is great judging from the pics, and the words spoken by Mr Knobloch ( shadowman?) are just right, no marketing besides the inevitable.
The way the chargecooler is situated inside the airbox is amazing.
All I can say is, this is the way to do it, this is the way to get even the biggest OEM nut to like this kind of modification. If anybody is considering an S/C mod, I'd put my money on these guys 7 days a week.
Wout

Having seen some of the photos of our member's cars in various states of unassembly and finally buttoned back up I would agree that D/A seems to know what they are doing. Even taking on a job (sorry I forgot the member's name) when a raceway facility had his car up for around 2 years is remarkable.
I've spoken with Sean directly and he seems to be a person that cares about their customer.
Speaking from personal experience, Shadowman only uses the absolute best parts, pieces and equipment, his mechanical knowledge and attention to detail are second to none. I thought I was obsessive compulsive about the details until I had the chance to work with Bill and Sean. These guys are true perfectionists. The monster M5s that have been on the road for the past several years are a real testiment to the quality of workmanship that comes out of D/A. Thanks Bill.

"If I have to explain it ... you most likely would not understand". Shadowman (Old Harley Davidson saying)

Just to bring this full circle... Osh was the guy at RMS that had BlackM5's car for years ...DA rescued the parts that remained, and transformed it into El Diablo. El Diablo went back to the middle east for a while, only to return and be acquired by Wilsondh (Dave). (RMS went on to deal with litigation and claims from many other customers...)
The latest news about Osh is a turbocharged E60 by 'currency motors', purportedly Osh is behind this company- beware.
The folks at DA are a class act. Bill, Sean, as well as their network of mechanics, technicians and craftsmen all share a passion for getting it perfect.
Bimmer had done an article about a year back on one of the M5s that they turned out. It appeared that the build quality and attention to detail were absolutely stunning. It was in the issue that had the Dinan S3-M3 on the cover. They used (if memory serves correctly) a Vortech supercharger in it. Suspension was AC Schnitzer coilover kit, with adjustable damping, Eibach swaybars and TDC swaybar brackets. The engine block was cryogenically treated and fully magnafluxed for imperfections and possible stress fractures.
To be that concerned about what you are going to be turning back over to your customer is quite astonishing. In this day in age, most places only care about the "initial" final product, not the longevity of it. It's definitely a place that I would consider having do work on my car. Because I think that they understand the OCD vehicle owner and having things be absolutely perfect.
